The two-dimensional aspect of movies is well-known. The fact that we are seeing movies on a flat, two-dimensional screen, though, is often not as well-known. I’ve been a fan of movies for a while, but I had never heard of 2d movies until the movie The Matrix, which is set during a 3d movie.
The Matrix is a movie that was originally released in 1988, but the first movie in the franchise (and arguably the most famous) was released in 2001. It is set in a world where all movies are two-dimensional, like the Matrix, but instead of being three dimensional, they are actually a sequence of three-dimensional images. In these 2d movies, our hero is a character named Neo, who is in a state of suspended animation.
In The Matrix, Neo is taken from his physical life to a 3d world where he is completely powerless to move and only has the use of his mind. In this sense, it is a film about the brain, not the body. The Matrix is a film about the brain, not the body. The Matrix is a film about our mind, not our body.
The Matrix was a film about the brain, not the body. But this is a very shallow way to think about films. Because while the brain is very important, it’s not the body that is the most important thing to think about when watching a movie.
Movies are a very different medium than, say, paintings. Movies are a very powerful medium in the sense that they capture the essence of a subject. Movies are not about how well the artist painted that object. Movies are about how well the subject captured the essence of the subject and how well they performed the role of the subject. It is this notion of performance, of performing the role of the subject, that drives the creative process of the artist.
Movies are also a very powerful medium in the sense that you can’t go back and redo a bad film you once thought was great. You can’t redo the last time you saw a cool action movie you wanted to see again. You can’t have a good film and a great movie, both of which are great, but you can’t have a great film and a mediocre movie, which are mediocre.
Movies also serve as a form of advertising because the audience consumes a product or service to come away with a particular impression or experience. In a movie, that experience is made possible by the actors who perform in the movie. The audience is only able to vicariously experience this without actually doing so.
In the case of 2d movies, that experience is made possible by the actors who perform in the movie, plus the producers and studios who help pay for the actors. For example, I have been a fan of the recent “The Man from Atlantis” movie. But it didn’t make it to theaters. It was available for purchase online. I had to watch it on my computer. I had to rent it from the internet.
What’s cool about 2d movies though is they aren’t movies.
2d movies are movies that are only made up of actors, producers, and studios. In other words, they are made up of other people and they are made in a way that doesnt make them look like something from the future.
