I just noticed that there are a lot of movies and tv shows out there that make it seem like all of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. I see it as a choice. A choice to take control of our lives and live with less of it. There are a few things I think about when I watch movies or television.
The first thing is that our habits, routines, and reactions actually do a pretty good job of controlling our lives. We are hardwired to be good at what we are good at, which is how we can function in society, and this is what we call “self-awareness.” We see ourselves as good at what we are good at, so we are able to live with less of it.
We also see ourselves as bad at what we are bad at, so we have to control those habits, routines, and reactions. As a result, the habits, routines, and reactions we have become so accustomed to are not in control. Our habits, routines, and reactions do what they do because they are good at doing them, so they become so comfortable with what they do that they get lost in the process.
The good news is that self-awareness and self-control are not mutually exclusive. In fact, it is possible to be good at both. In a similar way to how our feelings of love and anger are not mutually exclusive (because we are good at both), we can be both good with what we have, and bad at what we have. This is where the idea of being good at both comes into play.
What makes this idea so important is that it is a skill that is taught to us by our parents. In the same way that being good at sports is taught to us by our parents, we can also be good at self-awareness, self-control, and self-management. It may be difficult to grasp for the uninitiated, but self-awareness and self-control are skills that can come from anywhere.
The thing is, self-awareness and self-control and other self-management skills are not exactly in the same league as being good at being good at sports or being good at being good at being good at being good at anything. Self-awareness is a conscious awareness that we are aware of our own actions. Self-control is the ability to control our actions in a way that we don’t have to control.
Self-awareness is the ability to realize what we are doing and why we are doing it, and to decide whether we will continue to do it. Self-control is the ability to make ourselves do things we do not want to do. Self-management is the ability to manage our time and energy so we don’t need to manage our time and energy.
One of the things that we can do to help ourselves and others is to learn to be aware of what we are doing. Self-awareness is all about “letting go” of our thoughts and “letting go” of our emotions, and “letting go” of our habits, in order to not just continue doing the same thing, but learn to do differently.
Self-awareness is a lot like self-control. We can’t control our thoughts, emotions, and habits and thus can’t prevent them from happening. But we have the ability to turn off autopilot and turn on self-awareness, so if we use self-awareness to control our thoughts, emotions, and habits, we can make our lives less stressful and more manageable. We can also use the knowledge in knowledge and skill to help others.
Learning to learn is the key to mastering knowledge. If you learn something from someone, that is the most effective way to learn. It’s probably the easiest way. By learning from someone, you have a much greater chance of acquiring knowledge than if you learn from your own. The same is true for self-awareness.
