If you are in the market for something to watch on Netflix, there is a good chance you’ve already seen some of the excellent documentaries that have been made about the life of Dominic Rainsford, including “Dominic: The Man Who Invented Hollywood.” These documentaries are the ones that will let you know exactly what the man who invented Hollywood was, in a way that is impossible to describe in a few sentences.
The film genre has been a constant for decades now. In the early days we saw many documentaries about the world around us (and other people), but they’ve been relatively cheap and still cost a few millions of dollars. A few years ago, I was watching a documentary about the life of a British writer called James Chappell, who lived in the UK.
As I watched it, I realized that James Chappell was in fact an American, who also lived in the UK. In the documentary he claimed that the British people loved him and he was an American, but that doesn’t really make sense because the English are not Americans. The fact that Chappell was an American in an English-speaking country is irrelevant. The British are not an English speaking country, they are a separate country.
The same is true of American writers, who in England were considered to be British, and who would be considered American in any other English-speaking country. I know that the US Government has asked people to stop giving interviews to the BBC, but that is because the government doesn’t want to get sued when people start talking about the USA.
