Im pretty sure that the top ten action movies werent action movies with action scenes, but I feel like we need to start with the biggest action movie of the year. That film is Call of Duty 4. The sequel to the best thing in the genre that never really took off. It also got a sequel as well.

Call of Duty 4 is a game-within-a-game. You play as an American Marine and in the course of playing, you play as the best sniper in the Marine Corps. This means that the game is pretty much a military simulator. It’s got a pretty deep shooting system, but most of the time you’re just using a gun that looks like a sniper rifle. You don’t even have to use a gun. You just shoot people.

Call of Duty 4 is one of the best shooters to come out in a long time. But it is also pretty intense, with a great amount of action and a solid storyline that you ll find yourself playing through to the bitter end. Ive found myself using this game to get into the action and action-packed scenes in movies like “Taken” and “Cloverfield.

The best action movies 2014 are not the ones with the highest budget and the most intricate story lines, they are the ones where the audience is willing to play through the whole movie to the end.
